MSAD 58 Announces No Charge Breakfast and Lunch Meals for 2024-25 School Year

Phillips, ME - Maine School Administrative District No. 58 (MSAD 58) has one or more schools that are participating in the National School Lunch Programs Special Provision II. All students enrolled in Day Mountain Regional Middle School, Kingfield Elementary School, Mt. Abram High School, and Phillips Elementary School may participate in the School Breakfast Program and the National School Lunch Program for the 2024-2025 school year and will be served breakfast and lunch meals at no charge. Free and Reduced Price Meal Applications will not be collected to receive meals at no charge this year. However, MSAD 58 will be collecting household income information on an Alternate Economic Status Form. This information will only be used to determine economic disadvantaged status for the allocation of State education funds such as Federal Title programs. If you have any questions about the Alternate Economic Status Form, please call your child’s school principal. Families will receive a hard copy in your Back to School Paperwork packet or you could complete the form online here.

Studies show that children who are not hungry perform better in school. By providing both breakfast and lunch at no cost to students, we are helping to create a better learning environment. The school meals that we serve follow U.S. Department of Agriculture guideline for healthy school meals. The School Breakfast and Lunch Programs cannot succeed without your support; please encourage your children to participate in the school meals programs.
