Led by Dr. Erica Brouillet 20 teachers and 6 administrators of MSAD #58 look at three years of student data to implement a new three year Academic Improvement Plan for the district. Teachers representing all schools and grades are learning to use a specific data protocol to accomplish this task. Teachers are becoming familiar with many sources of data and the definitions of growth and improvement used by the State of Maine on the annual school report cards. This is a three (plus) day process; after which, the product will be a District Academic Improvement Plan for 2014-2015, 2015-2016, 2017-2018 school years. The plan will have three goals each for English Language Arts and Mathematics. Professional development, texts, activities, and resources will focus upon these goals. This Academic Team will meet quarterly to be sure we are meeting short term goals and address any issues relative to the plan. Additionally, teachers will go back to their schools, form school based data teams and plan school specific improvement. These teachers will construct data walls so the faculty may track progress throughout the school year.
